Transgender, Islamophobia and Disability awareness dates are highlighted during November, as well as International Men’s Day. Here’s when they take place, and what their significance is to all of us around the world…

National Stress Awareness Day
November 5th
National Stress Awareness Day was set up by the International Stress Management Association, with the mission of raising awareness of the effects of psychological distress in the workplace and strategies to address it.

Transgender Awareness Month
A celebration and recognition of transgender communities. November also includes Transgender Awareness Week, and Transgender Day of Remembrance.
Transgender Awareness Week
November 13th-19th
According to global LGBTQ advocacy organisation Glaad, Transgender Awareness Week is a week when “transgender people and their allies take action to bring attention to the trans community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community.” It also provides a lead up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th

International Men’s Day
November 19th
International Men’s Day offers an opportunity to focus on some of the key issues and challenges facing men and boys in the world today – including high suicide rates, men’s health, male victims of violence and crime, the effect of online porn and toxicity, the lack of role models in some boys’ lives and more.

Transgender Day of Remembrance
November 20th
The Transgender Day of Remembrance has been observed annually from its inception on November 20th 1999 to remember those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia.

Disability History Month
November 20th – December 20th
Disability History Month 2025 has a theme for 2025 of ‘Disability, Life and Death’. This annual event aims to raise awareness, challenge stererotypes, promote the rights and contributions of disabled people, and create a more inclusive society.
