About Empower Up

Empower Up is a toolkit and resource hub that supports UK-based game development studios, publishers, service providers and employees on their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) journeys.

Who We Are

Empower Up is a not-for-profit, industry-led initiative supported and funded by UK games industry trade body Ukie’s #RaiseTheGame initiative and specialist games recruitment agency Amiqus, which aims to equip organisations of all sizes with the resources, knowledge and frameworks they need to establish, improve or grow their ED&I policies, practices and processes.

Our Goal

We all want the games industry to be a more diverse and inclusive community, in which people from all backgrounds are welcome, valued and can flourish in their careers. Empower Up exists to literally empower organisations and individuals in the UK games industry to take their ED&I knowledge and practices to the next level, using both measurable and actionable steps.

How We Do It

At Empower Up’s heart is an innovative Health Check tool that enables studios, publishers and service providers to benchmark where they are on their individual, current ED&I journey, complemented by in-depth resources and content tailored to those results. The service is completely free for everyone to use, thanks to the support of Ukie and Amiqus.
