April is one of the busiest months in the inclusion calendar. It brings together a mix of religious observances, cultural celebrations, and EDI awareness campaigns. From major Christian and Jewish festivals to key moments for neurodiversity, wellbeing, and anti-racism, it’s a month that requires thoughtful planning and awareness.

Many of these dates overlap, making it especially important for organisations to consider inclusive scheduling. April is anchored by several month-long campaigns focused on wellbeing and inclusion. These include:
Autism Acceptance Month
An opportunity for everyone to come together and raise awareness, acceptance, and create a society where autistic people are supported and understood.

Stress Awareness Month
This year’s campaign motto is #BeTheChange, with the month dedicated to increasing public awareness of the causes, effects and management of stress.

Passover and Easter may be behind us, but for other religions and communities, there are a number of additional festivals and important dates, including:
– Theravada New Year (Buddhism) – April 13
– Vaisakhi / Baisakhi (Sikh) – April 14
April also highlights several important awareness days, including:
Earth Day – April 22 – an opportunity to explore sustainability through an inclusion lens, particularly climate justice
