Empower Up begins new chapter

Today marks the start of a new chapter for Empower Up, the online toolkit and resource hub supporting UK games businesses and employees on their Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) journeys.

Following the conclusion of its partnership with Ukie, Empower Up is now fully owned and managed by Amiqus, building on the strong foundations established since launch.

We would like to thank Ukie for its contribution over the years and for the role it has played in helping establish Empower Up as a trusted resource for the UK games industry.

Continuing the Mission

Empower Up was founded through the shared vision of Amiqus, Ukie and industry champion Dom Shaw, who recognised the need for practical, accessible support to help games companies create more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces. That vision remains as important today as it was when Empower Up was launched.

The platform will continue to provide free practical guidance, expert articles, industry news, resources, policy updates and actionable advice that studios and games companies of every size can use to strengthen their people, culture and working practices. As employment legislation evolves and expectations around workplace culture continue to grow, Empower Up remains committed to helping businesses navigate these changes with confidence.

As we enter this next phase, our focus is to ensure that Empower Up continues to be a practical, trusted resource for the industry. Over the coming months we’ll be listening to the community, working with contributors and considering how Empower Up can continue to evolve in ways that deliver the greatest value to games businesses.

Get Involved

Whether you’re taking your first steps on your inclusion journey or looking to build on existing progress, Empower Up will continue to provide practical, evidence-based support designed specifically for games businesses.

We’re also keen to hear from organisations, industry experts and partners who share our ambition to build a more inclusive games industry. Whether through contributing expertise, sharing best practice or helping to shape future resources, we’d love to hear from you.

Liz Prince MBE, Business Manager at Amiqus, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what Empower Up has become and grateful to everyone who has helped shape it over the years, including Ukie and Dom Shaw, whose vision and commitment were instrumental in bringing the initiative to life.

“Today isn’t about looking back, it’s about building on everything that’s already been achieved.  Empower Up has always been focused on giving games businesses practical, accessible tools to create stronger, more inclusive workplaces, and that purpose remains unchanged. In fact, we’re more excited than ever about what’s next.

“As we begin this next chapter, we’re looking forward to working with the community to ensure Empower Up continues to grow in ways that are genuinely useful, practical and relevant for the industry. We hope you’ll continue to be part of that journey with us. “
